Superman (2025) - Official Trailer

Here it is, the full official trailer for Superman (2025)! Here is the synopsis:

The film explores Clark Kent / Superman's journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his adoptive human family in Smallville, Kansas.

Superman is my number one favorite superhero, so I am very excited for this movie (as you would expect)! I like this trailer mainly because you can't really tell what the movie's actual plot is. I remember that last Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice (2016) trailer just giving everything away, leaving no surprise. With this one, there is a lot going on, but I am not sure how they are all connected together.

I just hope this movie is good! Can't wait to see Mr. Terrific, Hawk Girl, and Guy Gardner in action on the big screen, too! Superman comes out internationally July 9, 2025 and on July 11, 2025 in America!

Superman (2025) - Official Teaser Trailer

It's finally here! The teaser trailer for Superman, directed by James Gunn, has been released. If you haven't been following the news, Superman is the first movie in the DC Universe (DCU). Here is the current synopsis:

Superman embarks on a journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent.

After watching this teaser multiple times today, I am very optimistic about it. I hope it is amazing, and shows what's so great about Superman (it's not just his super powers). As much as I loved the Zack Snyder DC movies, there were things in them I didn't necessarily agree with. It's way too early to say, but this new movie may show the hope, optimism, and selflessness that Superman represents more overtly. Also, so cool to see Hawkgirl, Mr. Terrific, and Guy Gardner (Green Lantern) in live action!

Superman comes out July 11, 2025. I will be there!

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023) - Trailer

Here is the official trailer for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the sequel to Aquaman (2018). Jason Momoa returns as Arthur Curry/Aquaman, and James Wan returns as director. Here is the synopsis:

Having failed to defeat Aquaman the first time, Black Manta, still driven by the need to avenge his father’s death, will stop at nothing to take Aquaman down once and for all. This time Black Manta is more formidable than ever before, wielding the power of the mythic Black Trident, which unleashes an ancient and malevolent force. To defeat him, Aquaman will turn to his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis, to forge an unlikely alliance. Together, they must set aside their differences in order to protect their kingdom and save Aquaman’s family, and the world, from irreversible destruction.

I am actually looking forward to this one, and not just because I'm a DC fan! Aquaman was the last DC movie I watched in theaters, and it was the movie I watched in theaters as well (before the pandemic started). My life sucked at the time (terrible job and terrible health caused by the terrible job) so taking the time out to actually watch that movie was an awesome experience. From what the trailer is showing, it looks like it could be a good one! Of course, I wonder how everything is going to go now that the DCEU is no more, and the problems with Amber Heard (who plays Mera) are seemingly over with. I guess we have to watch it for ourselves and see!

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom comes out in theaters on December 20, 2023!

BLUE BEETLE (2023) - OFFICIAL FINAL TRAILER

Here is the official final trailer for Blue Beetle, the latest DC comics superhero movie. Here is the synopsis:

Recent college grad Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero BLUE BEETLE.

As I've said before, I have high hopes for this movie. It looks like it could be really good! You can see the sentai/tokusatsu influence in the action scenes, too. I am also biased towards this movie because Jaime Reyes is from my hometown (and they did film some scenes here). Blue Beetle comes out August 18, 2023!

The Flash - Official Trailer 2

Here is the second official trailer for The Flash! What else can be said? This looks so good! I need to see this NOW! It comes out on my birthday, so... it'll be a birthday I'm actually looking forward to!

The Flash comes out June 16, 2023!

Blue Beetle (2023) – Official Trailer

The trailer for Blue Beetle has finally dropped! The Blue Beetle is a DC superhero who has been around since 1939! This movie focuses on Jaime Reyes, the third version of the Blue Beetle character.

Fair warning, the trailer seems to spoil the Blue Beetle's whole origin, so watch out for that. Nonetheless, it looks like this movie is going to rock! I will admit, the character of Jaime Reyes is from my hometown, and some scenes were even shot here (in the downtown area), so I am very excited about that. I also love George Lopez's mullet in this! Anyways, Blue Beetle comes out August 18, 2023. Let's hope it's really good!

The Flash (2023) – Official Trailer

It's finally here! The official trailer for The Flash is out, and it looks amazing! Here is the synopsis:

Barry Allen / The Flash travels back in time to prevent his mother's murder, which traps him in an alternate reality without metahumans. He enlists the help of Batman and the Kryptonian castaway Supergirl from alternate realities in order to save this world from the restored General Zod and return to his universe.

This movie is based on the Flashpoint storyline in the Flash/DC comics universe. With everything that has happened with Warner Bros. and the DCEU, we will see if this movie will be used to reset everything and set up the new DC movie universe. It is great to see both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck back as Batman, I must say. Also cool to see those certain villains returning.

The Flash comes out June 16, 2023! What a birthday present for me!

Shadow Master (2022) - Movie Trailer

Check out the trailer for Shadow Master, a martial arts horror film directed by Pearry Reginald Teo and starring D.Y. Sao, Brian Le, Layton Matthews, Anna Harr, and Craig Ng. The Martial Club crew does the choreography for this movie! Here is the synopsis:

Slain during a ferocious fight and reborn with supernatural powers, one man stands between demonic forces bent on hastening the Apocalypse and a ragtag group of apartment dwellers protecting their children from certain peril.

Shadow Master comes out November 4, 2022 in select theaters and on November 8, 2022 for On Demand and digital services. This movie looks AMAZING, and I really want to see it!

The Super Inframan (1975) - A Review

This is called one of the best worst movies. I think it's entertaining!

The Super Inframan (also known as Inframan) is a Hong Kong superhero/sci fi/action/martial arts movie released in 1975, and is the first Hong Kong superhero movie. It stars Danny Lee, Wang Hsieh, Yuan Man-tzu, Bruce Le, Terry Lau Wai-Yue, Dana Shum, and Lin Wen-Wei. The Super Inframan was directed by Hua Shan, with martial arts directed by Tong Kai.

Super Inframan. Enough said.

In The Super Inframan, Hong Kong is being attacked by monsters who rise straight out of the ground. The monsters' leader, Demon Princess Elzebub, makes her intentions clear to the world: She and her monstrous minions are planning to take over! Professor Liu Ying-de (played by Wang Hsieh), head of the Science Research Center, has just finished the BDX project, which coincidentally is just what is needed to deal with these monsters. The BDX project puts bionic parts into a human being to give them super strength and deadly combat weapons in a special suit the human can transform into at will. High ranking Science Research Center officer, Rayma (played by Danny Lee), volunteers to become The Super Inframan. From there, Super Inframan battles the various monsters, while Demon Princess Elzebub brainwashes one of Rayma's colleagues to do her bidding. Can Rayma stop Elzebub from taking over the world?

Demon Princess Elzebub and her skeleton ghost crew.

The Super Inframan is a Hong Kong movie influenced by the tokusatsu shows and movies from Japan. This movie is the Hong Kong version of Ultraman and Kamen Rider. I think this character and movie was a cool concept for Hong Kong movies at that time. Seeing as this was the first superhero movie made in Hong Kong it has its positives and negatives. The story is simple enough. Monsters are attacking and a team must stop them with the help of their super powered team mate. Rayma is a great hero... but there is not much else to his character. Really, all the characters are a bit one dimensional. We do get a nice scene between Professor Liu Ying-de and his daughter, but that's about it. It's fine, though. Who needs dramatic, serious scenes getting in the way of all the action?

The special effects are a mixed bag. The costumes are cool, especially Super Inframan's and the monsters'. They were designed by the same company that made the costumes for Kamen Rider (Shaw Brothers replaced the helmet made by the Japanese company for Super Inframan with their own helmet. I will always wonder what that original helmet looked like). Some special effects are primitive (like lasers) and some are really good (like the monsters and Super Inframan growing to gigantic size). There are a lot of explosions, including one on top of a lake! If you watch this movie, you will either respect the effort of the special effects, you will be embarrassed to be watching it, or you will laugh at it. I respect the effort.

There's a lot of action in this, and it's awesome!

Even though The Super Inframan takes a little while to get going, once Rayma becomes Inframan, the action scenes pick up. The fight scenes are reminiscent of the first season of Power Rangers (the morphed fight scenes from the original Japanese sentai footage). So no highly complex fights in this one. Still, the fights are very fun. Inframan even has his own version of the Rider Kick! Bruce Le (with one 'e') plays an officer of the Science Research Center, and he gets to fight some Skeleton Ghosts. Danny Lee also has a cool, non-transformed fight as well. The final battle goes on for quite a while, and Super Inframan uses every move and weapon he has against the horde of monsters he has to face. Good stuff!

So, should you watch The Super Inframan? If you like Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Power Rangers, or Godzilla, then I would say yes. Otherwise, you can skip it. I still say you should give it a chance, though. It's a fun, light-hearted movie with a crazy plot, crazy visuals, and crazy fight scenes. I hope this movie gets remade in Hong Kong or China some day. With modern special effects, and modern fight choreography, I think it would be a pretty cool movie.

(I apologize for the quality of these next pictures, I can't figure out how to take these pictures without glare.)

The DVD I watched for this review. The first non-bootleg Shaw Brothers movie I was able to buy.

Back cover of The Super Inframan DVD.

The DVD disc with a nice picture on the inner case.

The Super Inframan DVD comes with a booklet that goes into detail the making of the movie. Really informative stuff!

SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS Official Trailer 1 & BLACK ADAM Comic-Con Sneak Peek

The Shazam! Fury Of The Gods trailer was finally unveiled at San Diego Comic Con, and it looks very cool! This movie is the sequel to Shazam! (2019), with many of the first film's stars returning. The synopsis is:

Shazam takes on the villainous Hespera and Kalypso, daughters of the Greek titan Atlas.

I still have not been able to watch Shazam! yet, but I really, really want to! This trailer makes me want to watch it even more! Can't wait for this one! Shazam! Fury Of The Gods comes out December 21, 2022!

A sneak peak trailer for Black Adam also premiered at San Diego Comic Con! Very cool that archenemies Shazam and Black Adam had their trailers drop on the same day! We see a lot more of Dr. Fate and Hawkman in this one! Here is the synopsis, if you don't remember it:

Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods -- and imprisoned just as quickly -- Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

Black Adam looks really cool! I just hope that it is good, and that it is a success because... there are some very interesting plans for future movies involving Black Adam, Shazam, and Superman (along with other superheroes). Black Adam comes out October 21, 2022.

Black Adam – Official Trailer 1

Here is the trailer for Black Adam, starring the Rock (Dwayne Johnson), Pierce Brosnan, Quintessa Swindell, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, and Sarah Shahi. The movie is based on the DC comics super villain/anit-hero Black Adam, the archenemy of Shazam (Captain Marvel) and the Shazam family. Here is the synopsis:

Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods -- and imprisoned just as quickly -- Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

I can't wait for this movie to come out! I am really hoping that Black Adam will face off against Shazam in a future movie! Heck, it would be cool if Shazam and Superman teamed up to take on Black Adam in another movie. The possibilities are endless! Black Adam comes out on October 21, 2022.

The Crow (1994) - A Review

The Crow lives up to the hype, but is also underrated nowadays.

The Crow is superhero action thriller movie released in America in 1994, and is based on the graphic novel/comic by James O'Barr. It stars Brandon Lee, Ernie Hudson, Rochelle Davis, Michael Wincott, Bai Ling, Tony Todd, Michael Massee, and Jon Polito. The Crow was directed by Alex Proyas, with fight choreography by Jeff Imada and Brandon Lee.

The avenging angel. Brandon Lee rules in this.

In The Crow, Brandon Lee plays Eric Draven, a musician who gets ruthlessly murdered on Devil's Night after walking in on his fiance Shelly getting raped and beaten by a gang. Police Sergeant Albrecht (played by Ernie Hudson) is on the scene of the crime when a little girl, Sarah (played by Rochelle Davis) tells him that Eric Draven and his fiance were her friends and took care of her. Albrecht has to tell her that Eric Draven is dead and Shelly is in really bad shape...

One year later Eric Draven rises from the grave, and goes back to his apartment (where his murder took place). He gets flashbacks of his murder and the torture of his fiance, and vows to seek revenge on the gang that did this to her. Guided by a crow, he discovers that any wounds he sustains heals immediately. He can also see what the crow that is guiding him sees, so he is able to find every gang member involved and kills them in the way that they hurt his fiance.

Sarah and Albrecht are the only ones who Eric Draven trusts. Ernie Hudson is awesome in this, by the way.

The police begin investigating the murders of these gang members, and Albrecht (who got demoted) gets the heat for not immediately finding the culprit. Eric Draven makes himself known to Sarah and later Albrecht, who he explains what's going on with him to. The gang leader, Top Dollar wants this year's Devil's Night to be the biggest one ever, but is also intrigued by the presence of Eric Draven. As things unfold, Eric Draven must finish his quest for revenge and face off with Top Dollar...

First off, The Crow is amazing! I had no expectations, really, about this movie but man, this movie rules. The story, mood, the music, the cinematography, the editing, the acting, and especially the performance of Brandon Lee make this movie a classic. The movie is dark and brooding, yet psychedelic in some scenes. The music is classic early 90s grunge rock (which I am a fan of) and fits the movie; it doesn't feel out of place or inappropriate. The look of the city in this movie, in particular, the architecture, is amazingly gothic. So many cool shots of the buildings in this city. It really is a visual treat. This is definitely a 90s movie, yet it is timeless at the same time.

Top Dollar and Myca are one brother/sister duo you do not want to mess with.

Brandon Lee is just amazing in this. He plays Eric Draven as a poetic avenger; he shows no mercy to the criminals who killed his fiance, but shows he still cares about Sarah and certain others. He is dark and brooding, yet he has an angelic quality about him. Brandon Lee is charismatic as heck in this. Every time he is on screen, you cannot look away. He is graceful, whether he is walking the rainy, crime ridden streets or mowing down gangsters with powerful weaponry. Lee does get to show off some of his fighting skills, but it was shot in the 90s Hollywood way, so you don't get the full picture of what he can do. Brandon Lee is the man in The Crow, and is the main reason you should watch it. Excellent performance from him.

I first heard of The Crow when I saw the news reports of Brandon Lee's death on set. I was shocked and depressed that this could have happened to Bruce Lee's son. After that, I wanted to see the movie, but I was hesitant about it as well. Turns out, I never would be able to watch it back then. It never came on the TV channels I had, I never seemed to find it at the video rental stores or in retail stores. I couldn't see it in theaters because it was rated R. Finally, in May of 2022, I found it on a streaming site (Pluto TV), and I finally watched it. I loved it. I think I would have loved it back then, too. It is good to know that so many people love this movie, and love Brandon Lee's performance in it.

So yes, you should watch The Crow. It may not be the best movie ever made, but Brandon Lee's performance makes it a must see. The Crow may not be comic accurate, but it is still a good adaptation. It is also a very influential movie, with pro wrestler Sting and even The Punisher, and The Dark Knight Rises taking inspiration from it. Watch The Crow, you won't be disappointed. You will wonder why a rising star had to be taken so soon, though.

The man.

GREEN GHOST AND THE MASTERS OF THE STONE (2022) Trailer

Here is the trailer for a superhero/martial arts comedy movie called, Green Ghost And The Masters Of The Stone, starring Danny Trejo, Marko Zaror, and Charlie Clark! This movie/trailer is shocking to me because Charlie Clark is a car dealer in my city! I see his billboard and TV ads all the time where I live, and now I find out he's in a movie? What the heck?!?

Here is the synopsis: In a Texas border town, car salesman Charlie moonlights as masked Lucha libre wrestler "Green Ghost." When assailants arrive seeking an otherworldly emerald, Charlie discovers that he has super powers that he must harness to save humanity.

And here is the synopsis from Charlie Clark himself:

This is the untold story of the true Mayan Apocalypse that has been misinterpreted by scholars and was to have taken place on 12/21/12 - that was obviously wrong. A secret group of Mexican superheroes, known as El Trio de la Luz, are forced by destiny to include their adopted gringo into their group to join the fight to save humanity. Will the car salesman and local TV personality carry his weight and transform from the GRINGO into the GREEN GHOST? We shall see.. —Charlie Clark

I...I...need to to see this!
