Superman (2025) - Official Teaser Trailer

 It's finally here! The teaser trailer for Superman, directed by James Gunn, has been released. If you haven't been following the news, Superman is the first movie in the DC Universe (DCU). Here is the current synopsis:

Superman embarks on a journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent.

After watching this teaser multiple times today, I am very optimistic about it. I hope it is amazing, and shows what's so great about Superman (it's not just his super powers). As much as I loved the Zack Snyder DC movies, there were things in them I didn't necessarily agree with. It's way too early to say, but this new movie may show the hope, optimism, and selflessness that Superman represents more overtly. Also, so cool to see Hawkgirl, Mr. Terrific, and Guy Gardner (Green Lantern) in live action!

Superman comes out July 11, 2025. I will be there!

 

The Outlaw Johnny Black (2023) - Official Teaser Trailer

 The official teaser trailer for The Outlaw Johnny Black dropped today! Michael Jai White wrote and stars in this action comedy, brought to us by the people behind Black Dynamite (2009)! Here is the synopsis:

Hell-bent on avenging the death of his father, Johnny Black vows to gun down Brett Clayton and becomes a wanted man in the process. He goes into hiding, posing as a preacher in a small mining town that's been taken over by a notorious Land Baron.

I first heard of this movie seemingly years ago on Michael Jai White's Instagram. I remember him saying it was going to be more of a family film, at the time. I'm cool with that, as long as we see Michael kicking butt, as only he can, in it! The Outlaw Johnny Black comes out, only in theaters, on September 15, 2023. Can't wait to see this one!

 

MR-9: Do or Die - Teaser Trailer (2023)

 Check out the trailer for MR-9: Do or Die, an action movie from Bangladesh starring ABM Sumon, Michael Jai White, Niko Foster, Frank Grillo, Sakshi Pradhan, Oleg Prudius (formerly known as WWE wrestler Vladimir Kozlov), and Dalip Singh (formerly known as The Great Khali in WWE). Here is the synopsis (taken from the YouTube description):

Based on the highly popular Bangladeshi spy novel series Masud Rana. With a code name of MR-9 (ABM SUMON) is a very highly skilled and veteran spy for the BCI, with a muddled past, he is chosen to join forces with an elite group of International Espionage Agents, set up by the CIA operatives Duke (Michael Jai White) and Taylor (Niko Foster) for a joint operation, including an Indian spy Devi (Sakshi Pradhan) in the mix. Together they race against the clock with the mission to stop an international terrorist attack targeted for Las Vegas, organized by RNR, a high tech corporation run by Roman Ross (Frank Grillo) and his insidious plan to change the current world order.

I don't know, I think this movie looks pretty good! Gives me James Bond vibes (I am a Daniel Craig James Bond fan). I really want to see this one! I hope it's as good as the teaser trailer makes it out to be! MR-9: Do or Die comes out during Eid al-Adha (which is June 28-30, 2023).

Customs Frontline (2023) - Teaser Trailer

 Check out the trailer for Customs Frontline, which stars Nicholas Tse (New Police Story, 2004 and Raging Fire, 2021) and Jacky Cheung (Days Of Being Wild, 1990 and High Risk, 1995) and is directed by Herman Yau (The Untold Story, 1993 and The Legend Is Born - Ip Man, 2010). There is no official synopsis for the movie (as of this blog), but Customs Frontline deals with the Customs and Excise Department (C&ED) in Hong Kong (which fights against smuggling, drug trafficking, and drug abuse, among other things).

Customs Frontline comes out some time in 2023. This looks like it could be really good; I hope it gets an international release!

 

SHAZAM! FURY OF THE GODS Official Trailer 1 & BLACK ADAM Comic-Con Sneak Peek

 The Shazam! Fury Of The Gods trailer was finally unveiled at San Diego Comic Con, and it looks very cool! This movie is the sequel to Shazam! (2019), with many of the first film's stars returning. The synopsis is:

Shazam takes on the villainous Hespera and Kalypso, daughters of the Greek titan Atlas.

 I still have not been able to watch Shazam! yet, but I really, really want to! This trailer makes me want to watch it even more! Can't wait for this one! Shazam! Fury Of The Gods comes out December 21, 2022!

 

 

 

A sneak peak trailer for Black Adam also premiered at San Diego Comic Con! Very cool that archenemies Shazam and Black Adam had their trailers drop on the same day! We see a lot more of Dr. Fate and Hawkman in this one! Here is the synopsis, if you don't remember it: 

 Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods -- and imprisoned just as quickly -- Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

 

 Black Adam looks really cool! I just hope that it is good, and that it is a success because... there are some very interesting plans for future movies involving Black Adam, Shazam, and Superman (along with other superheroes). Black Adam comes out October 21, 2022.

 

 

THE KILLER Teaser Trailer

 Here is the teaser trailer for The Killer, from director Choi Jae-Hoon and starring Jang Hyuk and Anne. This is not a remake of the John Woo classic, by the way. Here is the synopsis:

Tells a story about a retired killer named Bang Ui Gang who gets swept up in a case while using violence to protect an adolescent girl he suddenly becomes in charge of. Kim Yun Ji is an ordinary high school student, but she has a lot of hidden scars because she has no one she can depend on. After her unexpected meeting with Bang Ui Gang, she will heal some of her inner pain. 

This movie looks dark and action packed! It comes out in the United States on July 13, 2022. I cannot wait to see this one!

 

 

DECISION TO LEAVE Official International Teaser Trailer

 Here is the teaser trailer for Park Chan-wook's latest movie, Decision To Leave! Here is the synopsis, according to Deadline.com:

Decision to Leave charts the aftermath of a man falling from a mountain peak to his death. The detective in charge of the investigation, Hae-joon, comes to meet the dead man’s wife Seo-rae. When she becomes a suspect, Hae-joon finds himself slowly developing an interest in her.

 The movie stars Tang Wei and Park Hae-il, and is directed by Park Chan-wook. Decision To Leave will come out later this year (2022) and then stream exclusively on Mubi next year (2023). All I have to say is, Park Chan-wook is one of my all-time favorite directors, so I absolutely cannot wait to watch this one!

 

Shin Kamen Rider Teaser Trailer

 Three days late to the party, but here is the latest teaser trailer for Shin Kamen Rider, a reboot movie being released on the 50th anniversary of the original Kamen Rider TV show. Kamen Rider is a classic, long-running tokusatsu series (of TV shows, movies, and manga) about a masked insect-inspired superhero who rides a cool motorcycle and fights kaijin (monstrous super villains). Hideaki Anno is the writer and director of this movie, which means he's worked on Shin Godzilla, Shin Ultraman, and Shin Kamen Rider so far. He is really working on some classic franchises! This looks like it's going to rock, so I can't wait to see this one!

Shin Kamen Rider comes out on March 2023!

 

Twisting Tiger (2022): First 5 Minutes - Teaser

 Check out the first five minutes of Twisting Tiger, the latest short film from Team Red Pro! It is directed by Joseph Le, and the Martial Club guys are involved with the action design as well. This looks very promising! I can't wait to watch the whole thing!

The official synopsis: After committing to a life of zen, a Black Shaolin Disciple with PTSD must break his vow of nonviolence and save his students from a bloodthirsty Asian gang.
